## How we make money

Play That Sells is free to read and reader-supported. This page says exactly how that works, so you can weigh it when you read a recommendation.

### Affiliate links

Some of the links to the tools we review are affiliate links. If you click one and later buy, the vendor pays us a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as going to the vendor directly. That commission is what keeps the site running.

We only ever add an affiliate link to a tool we would recommend to the right reader anyway. Where a tool has no affiliate programme, we still review it and link to it plainly, with no commission to us.

### What the money cannot buy

* A higher ranking. Order is set from the evidence before any commercial conversation, and a tool that pays us nothing can outrank one that pays us well.
* A softer verdict. Every review names a real drawback, including the tools we earn the most from.
* A preview. No vendor sees a review, a ranking or a score before it publishes.
* Removal of a bad review. We correct facts when they change; we do not delete an honest verdict because a vendor asks.

### How links are marked

Commercial links carry the standard `sponsored nofollow` attributes, and every page with one shows an affiliate disclosure above the first link. We do not use link cloaking or redirect tricks; the link goes to the vendor.

### The short version
